The Organization:
Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada is a national not-for-profit organization dedicated to reaching every Canadian affected by a brain tumour through advocacy, research, information, support and education. We are made up of a dedicated team of staff, volunteers, and health care professionals, all working together for the same goal: to find the cause of, and cure for, brain tumours while improving the quality of life for those affected. We are unique in that we work to serve the needs of Canadians affected by both malignant and non-malignant brain tumours. Hope and support are at the core of everything we do.
The Role:
Reporting to the Manager of Fund Development, the Community Events Associate is vital in nurturing relationships within the brain tumour community and supporting the Foundation’s fundraising and awareness initiatives. The individual is responsible for the management, growth, and strategic development of the Community Events portfolio, securing new event partnerships, and actively contributing to the success of our fundraising campaigns. This role involves building relationships with event organizers, donors, corporate sponsors, and volunteers to enhance fundraising efforts. The position also provides support for the Brain Tumour Walk program and contributes to the overall success of the Foundation’s fundraising initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build, maintain, and steward strong relationships within the brain tumour community, including volunteers, donors, corporate partners, and event organizers.
- Identify and cultivate new connections and partnerships that could lead to potential community-led fundraising events.
- Develop, secure, and steward corporate partnerships in support of the Community Events portfolio.
- Support and grow the current Community Events portfolio.
- Identify and pursue innovative community fundraising opportunities, leveraging networking, outreach, and creative partnerships.
- Work closely with the Fund Development team to develop a strategic fundraising plan that meets revenue targets and aligns with the Foundation’s strategic direction.
- Support the Brain Tumour Walk program and other fundraising initiatives as needed.
- Be an active and creative contributor to the Fund Development and Marketing teams, bringing innovative ideas to annual campaigns and community engagement strategies.
- Support broader Foundation initiatives by collaborating across departments and contributing to special projects as needed.
- Represent the Foundation at community events and networking opportunities as needed.
- Track, evaluate, and report on the success of community fundraising events, ensuring financial and engagement targets are met.
- Provide recommendations for improving event strategies and enhancing the overall volunteer and participant experience.
- Utilize software such as Raisin and Raisers Edge to uphold constituent profiles and tracking.
Salary range: $45,000 – $55,000 annually.
